IEC60529:2013 Reliable IPX4 Waterproof Test Chamber For EV Chargers
Product information:
This fully automatic Waterproof test system is designed and manufactured in accordance with:
1. IEC60529:2013 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosure (IP Code) – IPX4
2. Customer’s specific requirements for charging pile rain test line (sample type, material, maximum dimensions, maximum weight, etc.)
It is used to evaluate the waterproof performance of charging stations (doors, covers, and sealing interfaces) against rain ingress, verifying their compliance with IPX4 protection standards.
The system adopts a PLC-based intelligent central control, with touchscreen operation and parameter setting. The spray process is fully automatic. Multiple standard nozzles (IEC60529 Fig. 5) are arranged in a matrix layout, with adjustable spray angles, enabling waterproof testing on the top surface of charging stations of various specifications. This equipment is an ideal choice for third-party testing organizations and factory laboratories.
Test Principle:
During the rain test, the control panel sends a signal to start the system. The water pump draws water from the water tank into the pipeline spray system. After flow and pressure adjustment, the system generates the required rainfall (each nozzle: 10 L/min). Water is sprayed onto the sample surface through IPX4 standard nozzles with adjustable angles.

2. The front side is open to allow a forklift to place the charging pile. 3. The floor is equipped with drainage channels.

Control Cabinet |
1. PLC-controlled with 7" color touchscreen. 2. Real-time flow monitoring via electronic flowmeter; spray duration and flow rate adjustable on touchscreen. 3. The control cabinet will be connected to the user’s self-built water tank, supplying water to all 24 sprinklers, enabling continuous spray testing through the user’s own water recycling system. |

Spraying Mechanism |
1. Comprises gate & solenoid valves, main/branch pipelines, support frames, and adjustable-angle IPX4 sprinklers. 2. As shown below, four vertical posts are installed at the corners, with aluminum profiles on top to arrange the spray nozzles. 3. The structure of the aluminum profiles can be referred to in the picture below,and the final dimensions will be designed according to the size of the user’s rain test room. 4. All sprinklers are installed on the top of the rain test room via aluminum profiles, designed according to IEC 60529, Figure 5, with brass caps. 5. Sprinklers layout: 6 rows × 4 columns (for the detailed layout, please refer to the following figure). 6. A main pipeline supplies water to 24 spray nozzles through six branch pipes, with four nozzles on each branch. Each branch pipe is equipped with a solenoid valve for independent control. |

Test Procedure Overview:
1. Set test duration via touchscreen according to the charging pile model.
2. Load the charging pile into the chamber using a forklift to the stop position.
3. Start the test program remotely; system conducts automatic rainfall test.
4. Stop spraying upon completion and remove the sample.
5. Evaluate the results and determine pass/fail based on recorded data.
